Crainosacral Therapy

A gentle approach to settle and regulate the central nervous system through working along the sacrum, spine and cranium.

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on technique developed by American osteopath William Sutherland. It’s rooted in the osteopathic belief that, when given the right conditions, the body has an innate ability to heal itself.

What to Expect

During a session, you’ll remain fully clothed while the practitioner uses light, therapeutic touch—often along the sacrum, spinal column, and cranium. These gentle holds are designed to help restore the natural rhythm of your cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

Why It Works

CSF is a mineral-rich fluid that surrounds, nourishes, and protects your brain and spinal cord. It plays an important role in detoxification and nervous system repair. This fluid naturally recycles most effectively during deep, non-REM sleep. A CST session can help mimic this state—supporting the body’s natural rhythms and often resulting in deep relaxation, clarity, and a renewed sense of well-being.

Initial Session — 90 minutes — $160 — Includes a thorough intake and assessment to guide your personalized treatment plan.

Follow Up Sessions:

  • 90 minute sessions- $160

  • 60 minute sessions - $120

Recommended Number of Sessions:

The number of sessions depends on your goals, concerns, and how your body responds. Some feel relief after just 1–2 visits, while others start with more frequent sessions that gradually taper off. Those who practice good self-care at home often see great results in 3–6 sessions and choose to continue monthly for maintenance.

What Craniosacral Therapy Supports

  • Addresses symptoms related to anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and chronic stress.

  • For chronic musculoskeletal pain/ discomfort or misalignment that isn’t alleviated by other modalities.

  • Helps release tension in the cranial system to reduce frequency and intensity.

  • Mild, moderate and severe concussion— not recommended directly after moderate/ severe concussions, hematomas, brain surgery or spinal puncture.

  • Helps to calm the central nervous system after a stressful event, aids in the recalibration of the bones in the skull and alleviates symptoms of whiplash and spinal torsion.
